My birthday will be here soon and I've been thoroughly spoilt, much to my husband's despair, by receiving my very first garden gnome (thank you mum-in-law). He is not only visible by day, aided by the sun and a solar panel, my sweet little gnome beams all night as well. Therefore my dearest other half has to endure the 'monstrous sight' continually. Yes that's right, there's a slight difference of opinion in our household when it comes to the matter of garden gnomes. I love them...everyone
else hates them!
Funnily enough, the protagonist in my first book, 'Calling All Services', has a garden full of little gnomes. In hindsight, I realise now that possibly I wrote about the protagonist's gnomes from a subconscious yearning to build my own little gnome-haven, to protect and care for as many dear little fellows as I could get my hands on...and get away with!
I'm hoping that Godfrey Gnome (I've just named him in the process of blogging) will not be alone for too long. My plan is to create an empire fit for the friendly faced, dear souls but I'm not sure how I will deal with the issue of my gnome-loathing-husband. Maybe he won't notice if I hide the additions under the bushes. Slowly but surely, I will build my empire if it's the last thing I do...
